Get out your leather jackets, pull on your bobby socks and take a trip to the fabulous fifties with the original rock ‘n roll musical, Grease, playing for the first time in The Kweskin Theatre, Stamford! This long-running musical smash opened on Broadway in 1972, just a few months before the Kweskin Theatre opened. Playing September 12 through October 12, several dates are already sold out.

Step back in time to Rydell High's class of 1959. The duck-tailed, hot-rodding "Burger Palace Boys" and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking "Pink Ladies" in bobby sox and pedal pushers, bring the 1950's back to life in this rollicking musical. Head "greaser" Danny Zuko and "good" girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to rekindle the romance of their "Summer Nights" as the rest of the gang sings and dances their way through the songs "Greased Lightnin'," "We Go Together," "You're the One That I Want," “Born to Hand Jive,” "Hopelessly Devoted to you," and many more.

"I am so excited to offer this much-loved, Broadway musical for the first time here," said Lou Ursone, Curtain Call's executive director and producer. "Having one of our most successful directors, Meredith Walker, working on the show, has made this a terrific rehearsal process, so I know audiences will be thrilled," Ursone added. Music direction is by Peter Randazzo and choreography by Jennifer Silverman. Set design is by Peter Barbieri, Jr., costumes by Megan Latte Ormond and lighting design by Adam Lobelson.

The opening night benefit performance includes a casual pre-show dinner provided by Trackside Bar & Grill and a 1950s car show on site. A post-show meet and greet with cast and crew will offer desserts provided by DiMare Pastry Shop and Chocolate Works of Darien.

Grease, with book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, is presented through special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., a Concord Music Company and ran for more than 3,300 performances during its original run. The 1978 film adaptation remained the highest-grossing live-action musical until 2012 when it was overtaken by Les Misérables.

Performances will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00PM and Sunday afternoons at 2:00PM. The Kweskin Theatre is located at The Sterling Farms Theatre Complex, 1349 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT. Doors open one half hour before show time. Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for senior citizens and $17.5 for children. Thrifty Thursday tickets are $27.50. Flex Passes offer discounts of 25% and more. Box Office: 203-461-6358 x 36 or on the web at www.curtaincallinc.com.

Curtain Call's 29th season also includes the Fairfield County premieres of A Christmas Story The Musical, Something Rotten and Kinky Boots as well as several other plays and musicals, comedy nights, and an interactive murder mystery. Discounted Flex Pass subscriptions offer savings of 25% and more. Additional information is available at www.curtaincallinc.com or by calling 203-329-8207.

Curtain Call is the non-profit community-based theatre company in residence at The Sterling Farms Theatre Complex, 1349 Newfield Avenue in Stamford.
