The Fall Club season will run for 8 weeks (September 5 - November 3), and teams will train with a NEVBC Head Coach twice weekly and compete in three local tournaments. All levels, including beginners, are welcome!
"The Fall Club program is an instrumental part of our ongoing mission to grow the game of volleyball in Fairfield County. We are grateful to be working with the New England AAU on a project that will expose young athletes to our sport in a fun, encouraging environment. With only a few elementary and middle schools offering volleyball programs, athletes are rarely exposed to the game until they reach high school." stated Garrett Minyard, Owner and Club Director.
“While volleyball is a sport that can be picked up later in an athlete’s career, players in other areas of the country are starting to play volleyball as young as 6 years old, which gives them a sizeable advantage over time. If we can give elementary and middle school-aged athletes the opportunity to learn the game and compete from a young age, we will foster a deeper understanding and a love for the sport. This [Fall Club] program is going to make a tremendous impact on our volleyball community, and we cannot wait to get started."
At Team Selection Day on September 5, 2019, athletes will be split into teams based on age and skill. All teams will be co-ed except for Grades 7-8 (girls only), and teams in Grades 1-6 will play with modified rules and a lower net to maximize touches andfind success.
In addition, NEVBC will be offering a FREE “Program Preview Class” on Thursday, August 29th from 5pm – 6:30pm to allow interested participants to spend time on the court, learn about the programs, and meet the fantastic coaching staff. All levels are welcome and registration is recommended to reserve a spot on the court.
